Custom Framing

Our Story

1982 - Abbas, founder, began custom framing with a partner

1986 - Abbas decided to create his own business to instill his morals into his business. He created Picture Frame Factory. It began in a small 1200 square foot location in Rockville MD

1995 - An opportunity presented itself and Picture Frame Factory was able to move to a 8000 Square foot location in Rockville MD.

1996 - Picture Frame Factory expanded to create Preservation and Framing Services which opened in Washington DC off Connecticut Ave. Matin, Abbas’ business partner and wife at the time ran this location.

1997- Preservation and Framing Services moved to Wisconsin Avenue which has been the home of our DC location for 20 years!

2000 - We opened up a store in Olney MD called Le Galleria.

2002 - We sadly closed Le Galleria due to Matin getting diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

2011 - Matin and Abbas divorced but decided to keep their business because of their passion and love for their clients and frame shop!

2015 - Picture Frame Factory officially came under one name as Preservation and Framing Services

2016 - Parisa, Matin and Abbas’ daughter decided to learn and grow the family business. She put aside her nursing career to help Picture Frame Factory/ Preservation and Framing Services become the best framing place in town.

Our shop is so much more than just custom framing and restoration of artwork. We built and created this business with a passion to serve our community and provide a location for our community to come together.

Running a small business has obstacles and hardships, but what has kept us strong and together as a team is the vision that we can make an impact on people's lives. You may wonder how can custom framing enable us to do that. Here at Preservation and Framing Services we take pride in giving back to our community. We provide items for donation and silent auctions to help our local schools and charities raise money for their organizations. At our location, we invite local artists to display their artwork in hopes to help them start their journeys.

This small family owned business strives to give back to the community. We love to help our clients turn their visions into reality.

The beauty behind custom framing is the memory that it preserves. People mistake custom framing for only valuable art, but at Preservation and Framing Services we believe that art is individualized by the person who walks into our door.

What really makes us unique is our ability to help our clients in any capacity. We are happy to come to their homes, assess their walls, and provide feedback regarding what artwork to place on their walls. We love working with clients’ photos to create a beautiful collage. Clients can also do a multistep frame job so they can have a picture printed and matted to take to an event and have their friends sign before they get it framed!

We are excited to hear your story and help you with your artwork needs so your precious memories are preserved for a lifetime!

Every time I bring something that I think is beautiful, to you - - Its beauty is enhanced when I take it home. Thank you!
