I brought Preservation a complicated project. Multiple pieces, long lead time, required the high end of attention and finish. They did a spectacular job on it. Reading these reviews with people whining about prices--perhaps a reality check is in store. Custom framing is expensive. And requires hand work, materials and a lot of time behind the scenes. If you want a frame from Crate and Barrel to throw some photos in? Then go there. If you want to frame something of great value, be it personal or historic, they you pay. Period. That said yes, some framers are hard to work with. This was not my experience at Preservation. They were great. Thanks.
I've been a customer of Preservation and Framing for years, and they've always been amazing with whatever I bring in. I'm an art collector so I take my pieces very seriously, and that's why I love this place so much-I feel like there's nothing they can't do. Over the years I've bought everything from torn water damaged canvases, broken statues, and falling apart tapestries. They can frame or fix anything!
In addition to doing excellent work, Matin tracked down a moulding that was no longer being made in order to match a previously-framed 1940s poster. Prices here are competitive for CUSTOM high quality work. The work is meticulously done. Very pleased and have become a regular customer here. There's an old adage that "you get what you pay for". Quality does not come cheap. I have used many other frame shops in this area over the years and have experienced lots of mediocre work. That won't happen here.
I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Preservation & Framing! I have used them twice - once when I had this huge mirror that I didn't know what to do with it and I went in and the owner, Matin, helped me find a beautiful frame to custom make. It was ready in about a week or so, and I LOVE it! The second time I used P&F was under less favorable circumstances....my father passed away suddenly and needless-to-say, it was a chaotic, emotional time. We wanted to have a large photo of him at the service and also have some of his artwork (he was an amateur artist) framed to honor his memory and display for those coming to pay their respects. I was a mess and could not decide what to frame from his works, so trusting Matin, I left a number of pieces with her and she framed the 2 pieces that got his started and mounted a number of other ones on foam core board to be easily displayed. She also framed his head shot for the service, and this was all done in a matter of days! It all came out so beautiful and at a time that was very emotional for me and my family. Matin was a great help and was so sensitive to our situation, I can not thank her enough. P&F does not just do fabulous work but they work with their customers, creating that personal experience- true customer service, I'd say! That's what makes them stand out from the rest and that is what makes all the difference if you ask me. Thank you Preservation & Framing and THANK YOU, Matin!
